Publication Policies

The Journal of Agricultural Technology Futures Research (JATFR) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and transparency. Our policies ensure the integrity, quality, and accessibility of published research.

1. Peer-Review Process

  • All submissions undergo a double-blind peer-review process, where both the reviewers and authors remain anonymous.
  • Manuscripts are reviewed by at least two independent experts to ensure the quality, originality, and relevance of the research.
  • The editorial board reserves the right to accept, request revisions, or reject submissions based on reviewer recommendations.

2. Ethical Guidelines

We adhere to the guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to ensure ethical conduct in publishing.

  • Originality: Authors must ensure their work is original and free from plagiarism.
  • Authorship: All listed authors should have significantly contributed to the research.
  • Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence their research.
  • Ethical Approvals: Studies involving human participants or animals must include appropriate ethical approval documentation.

3. Open Access Policy

The journal operates under an Open Access model, ensuring all articles are freely available to readers worldwide without subscription fees. This enhances the dissemination and impact of the research.

4. Copyright and Licensing

  • Upon acceptance, authors will be required to sign a Copyright Transfer Agreement granting publication rights to JATFR.
  • All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY), allowing unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction with proper citation.

5. Plagiarism Policy

The journal has a zero-tolerance policy towards plagiarism.

  • All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection software.
  • Manuscripts with significant plagiarism will be rejected outright, and authors may be barred from future submissions.

6. Article Withdrawal and Retraction

  • Withdrawal: Authors may request to withdraw their manuscript prior to publication with valid justification.
  • Retraction: Published articles may be retracted if ethical breaches, errors, or inaccuracies are discovered post-publication. Retractions will be clearly indicated on the article page.

7. Publication Charges

The journal follows a hybrid model:

  • Authors can opt for free publication under standard terms or choose a Gold Open Access option with a nominal Article Processing Charge (APC).
  • Waivers and discounts are available for authors from developing countries or in case of financial constraints.

8. Data Sharing and Transparency

  • Authors are encouraged to share the data underlying their research to enhance reproducibility and transparency.
  • Supplementary datasets can be submitted alongside the manuscript for publication.

9. Appeals and Complaints

Complaints regarding publication ethics will be addressed promptly in accordance with COPE guidelines.

Authors can appeal editorial decisions by submitting a formal request to the editor-in-chief.
